HTC Teaser Tweet Suggests New Smartphone Coming: Is It One M9 Plus Or One Max 2?

In the lead up to Mobile World Congress on March 1, companies are beginning to tease upcoming devices more and more.

One of the more anticipated devices, apart from the Samsung Galaxy S6, is HTC's next line of flagship phones, with the leader of the pack being the HTC One M9. HTC recently teased what seems to be a larger version of the M9.

"Something HUGE is coming from HTC," reads the tweet. "Imagine [number][big thing] in space. And then [math term] that by number."

Speculation suggests this refers to the HTC One M9 Plus, however the cryptic clue could refer to any number of new products. The One M9 Plus has been rumored for a few months now, and will reportedly be unveiled alongside the One M9, the company's follow-up device to last year's One M8.

It's also possible the company is referring to the event of Mobile World Congress in general and that we're taking the tweet to mean something that it doesn't.

Some suggest the tweet also refers to the One Max 2, the follow-up to last year's One Max.

There's another possibility that has not been speculated on very much, and that's the "HUGE" thing HTC is referring to is the company's re-entrance into the tablet market. The Google Nexus 9 was made by HTCand was well received.

Last, but not least, is the fact the tweet could refer to the HTC Butterfly 3, with the rumored 5.2-inch display being a little larger than the 5-inch display on the Butterfly 2.

The tweet is certainly an interesting way to tease a new device, and shows HTC is not by any means afraid of having fun while hinting at upcoming devices. The tease reads in a way that leaves a lot up to the imagination.

The One M9 has been kept rather well under wraps by HTC. While there certainly have been rumors about the device, there has been nothing like the leaks and rumors about the Samsung Galaxy S6. Because of this, there is still a certain air of mystery about what to expect from the One M9.
