Oscars 2015: Watch All 8 Best Picture Nominees In Just 4 Minutes

We love watching the Oscars, and we love griping about who wins and who goes home empty-handed. But let's have a moment of honesty here. How many of the nominees do you ever watch prior to the Academy Awards? What's your average? 50%? 20%? 0%??

It's not like you don't want to watch all those movies. The Best Picture nominees in particular should be priorities for cinephiles, right? After all, if a movie is up for a Best Picture award... Well, just being nominated is a pretty big deal. It's a symbol of quality, of prestige. It's a label that says, "These are the best movies of the year." The unspoken implication being, "If you haven't seen these films, you don't qualify as a genuine movie fan. You suck, you loser."

No one wants that, am I right? But the problem is, how in the world do you find time in this day and age to watch that many movies? It was hard enough when there were just five nominees. But even this year, when there are eight nominees, finding time to binge on that many movies may as well be impossible.

Just the thought of it is exhausting. Makes you want to...

Fret not, dear film fanatic. You too can attend that one great Academy Award party you're always intimidated by, and do it like a total film snob (even though in reality you have the attention span of a gnat). All it will cost you is four little minutes of your time. At about thirty seconds a film, this video runs down all eight of 2015's Best Picture nominees, explaining their entire plot, main characters, and how they end.

Needless to say, it's filled with major spoilers for all eight movies: American Sniper, Birdman, Boyhood, The Grand Budapest Hotel, The Imitation Game, Selma, The Theory of Everything and Whiplash. If you plan or hope to watch any of these movies at some point, we recommend avoiding this video altogether.

For the rest of us who don't have time to keep up... This is a godsend.
