As MacRumors spotted on X (formerly Twitter) via Unknownz21, Apple will allegedly release at least five different colorways for the standard iPhone 15 and the Plus variant.

According to the prominent leaker who has more than 10,200 followers at the time of writing, these colors were already tested on the standard iPhone 15 handset throughout different development stages.

As such, the purported shades we might soon see on the iPhone 15 are the following:

  • Yellow
  • Green
  • Blue
  • Black/ Midnight/ Dark/ Basalt
  • Pink/Rose Gold/ Blush Gold
  • Orange (inconsistent mentions)

MacRumors also mentions in the same report that the iPhone 15 lineup will have a USB-C that will feature a matched color with the cable. This is the first time that the Cupertino firm will do this if this is the case.

The report indicates that this won't apply to the black version since it will come with a "glossy" white plastic shell. The braided USB-C cables will have strain relief tubes and these are not what we usually see on the MagSafe 3 and the magnetic charging cable for Apple Watch.

Currently, the existing iPhone models have a white cable matched with a white rubber jacket. It's a slow transition for Apple which has been making a color-matched braided cable for some of its products including the MagSafe 3-equipped MacBook Pro and MacBook Air.

Another interesting tweet from an Apple item prototype collector "Kosutami" suggests that there are already samples of the new cables. The source has already uploaded the photos of the accessories which were believed to be "genuine" cables from the company.

Why the Orange Color Has 'Inconsistent Mentions'

Kosutami's tweet showing the orange-colored cable has reportedly caused confusion to other viewers. In fact, it's not an orange shade but more of a coral shade. This, could be the reason why "inconsistent mentions" is linked to the orange color option for iPhone 15.

The Coral shade was first introduced in 2018 when Apple released the iPhone XR.

iPhone 15 Plus Might 3LD3 Chip

With Apple eliminating the use of a traditional Lightning port, a new report by Gadgets360 hints that iPhone 15 Plus could likely have a USB Type-C charging port and a 3LD3 chip. The publication reveals that the information came from Majin Bu, another tipster who showed the pictures of the Apple-made chip.

According to the leaker, the component can be used for transmission encryption, not to mention its ability to regulate charging speeds for iPhone 15 Plus.

Speaking of iPhone 15 Plus, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claimed that this model will get a revamped 48MP camera armed with a new tacked sensor design.
