iPhone 15 Pro Max Rumored to Be More Expensive Than Previous Models

A tech insider claims that the iPhone 15 production will begin in August.

iPhone 15 Pro Max, as all can expect, is rumored to be on its production schedule, allegedly starting next month. While this is partly true, this variant might also sport a higher price tag than ever before.

Analyst Jeff Pu of Haitong International Tech Research has shared his insights on the iPhone 15 production timeline, expected assembly volumes, and the potential for a price increase.

Pu has a mixed track record in terms of accurately predicting product details, but he has proven reliable when it comes to insights related to Apple's supply chain. His recent note to investors leans more towards credible information rather than speculative claims.

According to Apple Insider, Pu predicts that mass production of the iPhone 15 will kick off in August, which aligns with the typical schedule, barring any major disruptions caused by COVID-related restrictions. He also mentions that early low-volume construction has already commenced, but he provides no further details on this aspect.

As for assembly numbers, the expert estimates that Apple will produce approximately 84 million units across all iPhone 15 models.

While he doesn't provide a breakdown by model, he does mention that the iPhone 15 Pro Max (or potentially named iPhone 15 Ultra) is expected to be popular in the initial months. This trend is consistent with previous iPhone releases, where the "pro" models tend to experience higher demand in the first few months, followed by a shift in popularity.

Potential Price Hike for iPhone 15 Pro Max

Considering the inclusion of new features in the top-tier iPhone 15 Pro Max, Pu anticipates a price increase for this particular model. While he doesn't provide specific details on the magnitude of the price hike or the reasons behind it, rumors suggest that the larger iPhone 15 Pro Max could boast exclusive features not found in the smaller iPhone 15 Pro.

One possible addition to the iPhone 15 Pro Max is a periscope lens, which would offer an enhanced optical zoom capability compared to previous models. Additionally, there are speculations about a new sensor that could potentially improve low-light performance and overall image quality in the iPhone 15 series.

What to Expect About the iPhone 15 Family?

As per MacWorld, the iPhone 15 lineup will be an action-packed handheld device that will boast premium features for a smartphone.

As such, the upcoming series will have an A17 chip which is a higher-end version of the current A16 Bionic found in iPhone 14 Pro.

Another thing to take note about this is the inclusion of its titanium body. The iPhone 15 will sport a stronger build, ditching the usual stainless steel.

Apart from that, the iPhone 15 lineup is expected to have an Action button which is allegedly replacing the mute switch. Of course, the new smartphones are also coming with a faster USB-C as a substitute for the Lightning connector.
