Steam has added a new update that allows users to trace back its whole backlog. The update arrived on August 1, and it comes with multiple abilities like a timer and a better way to sort one's Steam Library based on when a certain title was added.
New Steam Update Comes With New Features Involving Viewing the Library by Date Added
According to PC Games N, the brand new Steam update came from Valve, and it involved updating the Steam clients with certain features while also fixing a few common bugs that players had been experiencing.
It was reported the Steam patch does come with a few changes, but it would also most likely be suitable for multiple new players since they can finally sort out their Steam library based on the date a game was added.
This would provide users with a quick and easy way to check all the best PC games they've once tried in their backlog. It will also allow players to browse games based on a certain time period of their life, making it easier to remember.
Other Features Include Timer, Which Allows Gamers to Keep Track
Game Rant also reported that the new patch also comes with a timer tool for Steam that would allow users to know how long they have been playing. However, it still lacks the ability for users to be able to track their speedruns.
The feature would be suitable for people who easily get engrossed in a specific title and find it hard to keep track of time when they are playing. Ken Allsop of the PCGamesN reported that the feature he was most happy about was the ability to sort by date, which lets users track the games they have downloaded chronologically.
The report further noted that the feature would work even better with Valve's Dynamic Collections tool, making it much easier for users to line up the titles they have never really played and find out when they bought them.
Users That Buy Multiple Titles Can Find an Easier Way to Check Them
The feature would be very useful for users who often buy multiple titles during a Steam sale but tend to forget about them over time. With the new tool, users will be able to keep track of the titles they bought during a big sale.
It was also reported that there were several improvements when it came to controller support and the Steam Input functionality, which assists with better compatibility. The feature affects how the PlayStation controllers are capable of using the touchpad through typing with their on-screen keyboard.
With the new feature, users will be able to stay in the DirectInput compatible mode through Bluetooth should users disable their Steam Input. Gaming On Linux also shared the different features included in the update.
