Because of the ongoing pandemic and other happenings across the world, many people can't afford to go outside just to get their Apple smartphone's battery fixed.

However, with the right knowledge, you will be able to replace your handset's outdated cell without leaving the premises of your house.

Many people are already doing this. Now, here's a simple guide you can follow.

The newest method to fix your iPhone's battery is using Apple's new Self Service Repair program.

Although this is quite efficient, it still has limitations as it can only accommodate iPhone 12, iPhone 13, iPhone SE, and other newer models.

If you have an older Apple handset, CNET reported that there are also other methods you can rely on to replace its battery.

These include using a replacement battery tool kit. You can specifically get this tool from iFixit, a company that helps electronics consumers repair their gadgets.

Once you purchase the iFixit kit, the tech firm will further assist you on how to use it properly. Aside from this, iFixit also offers a battery unit that you can use to replace your old iPhone cell.

But, you need to remember that the battery offered by iFixit is not from Apple since the iPhone maker doesn't sell its smartphone components to third-party companies.

Warranty Effect and Other Details

Of course, once you replace your iPhone's battery, the official Apple warranty will be voided.

But, since battery replacements are usually done for old iOS smartphone models, their warranties are most likely over since this agreement only lasts for 12 months.

On the other hand, if you are not a fan of battery replacements, then the best thing you can do is keep the health of your iPhone's cell.

MakeUseOf provided some of the things you can do to maintain your iPhone's battery health, such as the following:

  • Avoid leaving your device at 0%.
  • Avoid charging your iPhone at 100% continuously.
  • Avoid overnight iPhone charging.
  • Always use the official Apple iPhone chargers.

Meanwhile, Apple's focus shifted to iPhone 14, leading to a delayed iPadOS 26 software update.

On the other hand, iOS 16 Beta brought back the iPhone battery percentage icon.
