Facebook Now Copying TikTok's Mechanics? Meta Updates FB To Show Content From Page, Users You're NOT Connected To

Facebook is now copying TikTok's mechanics, which means that the social media platform will also have its own version of the Chinese app's FYP (For You Page).

Meta also confirmed the upcoming adjustments it integrated into Facebook.

The tech giant manufacturer explained that the changes would allow users to have more control over the content they see on their FB accounts.

Previously, Meta started promoting video products across Facebook and Instagram so that users would be encouraged to engage more.

Although this plan works on IG, it is hard to conclude if it helps Facebook gain more users.

Facebook Now Copying TikTok's Mechanics?

According to The New York Times' latest report, Meta announced that it would continue adjusting its Facebook platform.

Experts said that the changes would have a major impact on how users browse the online service.

They even added that once these enhancements are implemented, Facebook will work similarly to its largest competitors, especially TikTok.

One of the things you can expect from Meta is the new Facebook Home tab. This new section will feature a feed of looping videos, photos, as well as user status updates.

The new Home tab is very similar to TikTok's FYP, which also shows videos that will continuously play until you scroll down or up.

On the other hand, Meta's Facebook adjustments are also expected to show videos from pages and other users, even if you are not connected to them.

You can see this content once you visit Facebook's new "Suggested For You" section.

How Did Facebook Suggest For Your Works?

The new Facebook Suggested For You tab relies on Meta's algorithms so that it can identify the content you like to see, even if they are not from your FB connections.

Meta explained that its artificial intelligence tech would also be used to make the new Facebook Suggested For You tab more efficient.

Of course, this is now concerning many experts. Gizmodo reported that the changes clearly show that the tech firm is taking advantage of TikTok's technologies.

What makes this worst is that it only picks those that are useful. Some enthusiasts even said that Meta is "ripping off TikTok." You can click this link to see further details.

Recently, the new Meta open-source AI project was announced.

Meanwhile, Facebook NFTs started to roll out to selected FB creators.
