Meta is now testing the new Facebook multiple account option. This means that users can soon create more than one profile.
For the past few years, Facebook users can only use their real identity for one account. Although this is the case, there are still some individuals who can make other FB profiles.
However, they need to create a new Yahoo or Gmail account and use other names, contact numbers, and other user information.
Now, this situation once Meta launches the new Facebook enhancement it is working on.
Meta Testing Facebook Multiple Account Option!
According to The Verge's latest report, Meta is working on a new Facebook enhancement that will allow users to create new accounts linked to their original profile.
Tech geeks familiar with the tech firm's works explained that the upcoming FB option allows users to have different accounts for various purposes.
For example, they can use their original account for their families and other relatives. On the other hand, they can create new profiles specifically for their friends.
"To help people tailor their experience based on interests and relationships, we're testing a way for people to have more than one profile tied to a single Facebook account," said Facebook spokesperson Leonard Lam.
When it comes to rules, CNET reported that the new profiles created using the new feature are still required to follow Facebook's existing policies.
Multiple Facebook Account Options Catch
Since Meta clarified that its policies will still be applied to the new accounts, users need to be extra careful when posting content that may violate the tech firm's regulations.
Now, here's the catch. Meta explained that consumers could use other names for their new accounts. Of course, this may encourage other people to post inappropriate content on their other profiles.
But, the tech firm said that if one of your accounts violates the social media platform's policies, the penalties will apply to the original profile and all the accounts under it.
