Snapchat Plus? Snap Tests its Subscription Service with NEW Exclusive Features!

Snapchat Plus, the paid subscription service of Snap, which brings exclusive features, is currently being tested, the social media giant reportedly admits.

The new paid service first leaked on Twitter, but Snap went on to confirm that they are currently working on its Plus tier.

Snapchat Plus Paid Subscription Service

The paid subscription model is becoming more ubiquitous these days. Streaming services like Netflix, HBO Max, and Disney Plus are some of the first to come to mind.

But it is worth noting that Twitter also has its own paid option known as Twitter Blue. The privacy-focused messaging service Telegram also plans to offer its Premium tier.

Both Twitter and Telegram use the paid subscription model to bring features that their non-paying users miss out.

For instance, the undo button and NFT function on Twitter is only exclusive to its Blue subscribers.

This time around, Snapchat appears to be joining the club anytime soon.

As per a news story by The Verge, an app researcher initially discovered the Snapchat Plus, disclosing its features and pricing.

The prominent leaker, Alessandro Paluzzi, was generous enough to share what he learned about the new paid service of Snapchat on his Twitter account.

The app researcher went on to provide screenshots and more explicit details on Snapchat Plus.

The Verge reports that the spokesperson of Snap, Liz Markman, confirmed Snapchat Plus.

The Snap spokesperson said it straight that they are testing the "new subscription service for Snapchatters."

Snapchat Plus Features

Now that the all-new Snapchat Plus service has been confirmed by no less than Snap, here's what we know from it so far.

First, Markman shared some vague offerings of the new paid service.

The spokesperson shared that it includes "exclusive, experimental, and pre-release features." So, paying users of Snapchat could get their hands on features missing from its free version.

Apart from that, Paluzzi got a glimpse of more explicit offerings of Snapchat Plus.

The Twitter thread of the leaker showed that Snap is working on a new "#1 BFF" feature, allowing Plus users to pin a special best friend.

What's more, it also brings functions like changing the Snapchat icon. Another feature seeks to feed the curiosity of its users by notifying them if someone has watched their stories more than once.

Snapchat Plus Price

With leaked features alone, it is hard to say if the new Snapchat subscription service is worth your money.

But, thanks to Paluzzi, we also got the pricing details of Snapchat Plus.

According to a report by 9to5Mac, the screenshots from the app researcher prematurely hint that the Plus service cost roughly $4.84 monthly.
