The Tesla Model Y AWD with 4680 battery cells was launched during the Giga Rodeo, which is the grand opening event of the Gigafactory in Austin, Texas.
However, the new version of the Model Y has yet to be formally released to Tesla customers. Not to mention that the new AWD electric car has yet to be included in both the configurator and the inventory of the tech giant.
On top of that, as per a news story by Electrek, the EV tech giant of billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk is still mum about the specific details of the new Texas-made Model Y, such as its pricing and specs.
It comes even as Tesla has already started the deliveries of the all-new version of the Model Y crossover.
Instead, the Tesla CEO and founder, Musk, dubbed the Texas-made Model Y as "revolutionary." The tech exec also confirmed that the new version of the electric crossover features a new 4680 battery cell.
On top of that, Musk also revealed that the new Model Y flaunts a simpler production process, along with its improvements in efficiency and safety.
However, all of these are still vague descriptions of the new Tesla crossover.

Model Y AWD Pricing, Specs
But this time around, an internal memo of the EV maker for its employees has slipped with more concrete information regarding the Giga Texas Model Y.
According to a recent report by Tesla North, initial reports about the leaked internal memo of Tesla have already detailed the pricing of the new Model Y with 4680 battery cells.
The internal memo reportedly said that the Texas-made Model Y costs $59,990.
Thanks to a post by a Twitter user that goes by the username "WholeMarsBlog," we get to confirm more details about the new version of the Tesla EV.
The base model of the Model Y AWD, which sells for $59,990, sports 279 miles of battery range, along with 0-60 mph acceleration in just 5 seconds.
Tesla said that the lower battery range of the new Model despite the new 4680 batteries comes as the EV maker is balancing its price and performance.
