As per a news story by Teslarati, roughly 15,000 people attended the grand opening event of Tesla in Texas, wherein they got a glimpse of the new massive facility of the EV maker, which will be producing its fleet of electric cars.

The news outlet noted that one of the notable showcases during the Cyber Rodeo event is the all-new Tesla Model Y Standard Range, which sports an All Wheel Drive or AWD system.

The new Tesla Model Y Standard Range AWD first saw the light of day on the Fuel Economy website of EPA in March, suggesting the electric crossover is debuting any time soon.

The media outlet said in its story that sighting could be the cheapest Tesla Model Y-just in the nick of time as EVs have been increasing their prices.

Although it is to note that the Model Y used to have a Standard Range, the Tesla CEO then announced that it will only be available "off menu" due to its limited range.

So, the Model Y Long Range became the cheapest offering, which carries a price tag of $62,990.

Model Y Standard Range and Giga Texas

However, this time around, the giant electric automaker launched a new Model Y Standard Range AWD.

On top of that, it was also confirmed that the new Standard Range of the Model Y comes with a 4680 battery cell.

Teslarati further added in its report that the EV tech giant previously announced that the Giga Texas will be producing Model Y units with 4680 batteries and a Structural Battery Pack.
