Apple M1 Ultra benchmark results have been leaked, making it the first-ever independent test for the all-new Silicon chip of the Cupertino tech giant, which gauged its impressive performance.
Apple M1 Ultra
As per a news story by Tom's Hardware, the benchmark results of the M1 Ultra comes shortly after Apple debuted its top-of-the-line system on a chip under the M1 series.
The M1 Ultra outperforms any other M1 chip, such as the M1, M1 Pro, M1 Max, which are found on the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models.
On the other hand, the M1 Ultra SoC exclusively powers the new desktop system of the Cupertino-based tech giant, specifically for professionals, which goes by the name Mac Studio.
The M1 Ultra features up to 20 CPU cores in total, Tom's Hardware noted in the same report, adding that 16 of these are specifically used for high-performance usage, whereas the other four cores are primarily for the sake of efficiency.
Not to mention that the top-of-the-line Apple M1 chip also sports up to 64 cores of GPU. It also comes with a unified memory of up to 128GB, replacing the RAM.
Apple M1 Ultra Benchmark Results
All that said, the first-ever independent benchmark of the Apple M1 Ultra has now been leaked and published on the Geekbench 5 database, showcasing how its performance compares with other chipsets out there.
According to a recent report by WCCFTech, the latest benchmark results of the Apple M1 Ultra confirmed the specs that the tech giant boasted during its launch.
The benchmark result of the Apple M1 Ultra garnered a 1793 single-core score in its first test. On the other hand, the new SoC achieved a 24055 multi-core score.
Both multi-core and single-core tests were performed in a macOS 12.3 system.
Apple M1 Ultra vs. Intel Core i9-12900K
When compared to the performance of the Intel Core i9-12900K, the Apple M1 Ultra easily outperforms it in terms of the multi-core test. However, it still lags behind the single-core results of the Intel chip.
The Intel Core i9 has a 1997 single-score, which beats the 1793 result of the Apple chip. The former achieved a 17204 multi-core score, which lags behind the impressive 24,055 results of the M1 Ultra.
Apple M1 Ultra vs AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3990X
When it comes to the 32 core chip of AMD, the Ryzen Threadripper 3970X, the M1 Ultra nearly got the same multi-core score.
To be more precise, the AMD Ryzen 3990X flaunts a 25697 multi-core score, while the Apple chip is still a bit behind by 1642 points.
On the other hand, the Apple Silicon chip beats the 1294 single-core performance of the 32 core AMD chip.
