WhatsApp's new Document Preview feature will soon be launched globally. As of the moment, users can't actually see the photos or videos shared as documents unless they download the files.
However, with the new Document Preview, this scenario will change. Recently, the popular messaging app also released a similar feature.
The previous update focused on links, allowing users to see the previews of the links sent to them. This enhancement is quite similar to the feature offered by Telegram.
WhatsApp Document Preview's Details
According to Android Police's latest report, the new Document Preview feature will allow WhatsApp users to see the photos or videos shared as documents before downloading them to their devices.

The enhancement works on the WhatsApp 2.22.5.11 Beta version when it comes to compatibility. But, WABetaInfo reported that it would soon be rolled out to all users.
Although this is the case, some lucky beta testers can already use the new feature through older app versions.
One of the advantages offered by the new Document Preview feature is that it will encourage more users to send photos and videos as documents.
Doing this will maintain the quality of the content you send to other contacts.
Other New WhatsApp Features
Aside from the upcoming Document Preview, the Meta-owned messaging platform recently released new features.
These include the revamped voice call interface. Before the new call UI version was released, users only had a plain, black background.
But now, the call user interface is ornamented. Some rumors claimed that WhatsApp would soon make it customizable, allowing consumers to use their own backgrounds.
In other news, the WhatsApp desktop version released a new global audio player with redesigned caption menu and other enhancements.
On the other hand, another WhatsApp enhancement is expected to arrive, allowing users to conduct Android to iPhone chat history transfer.
