Tesla is now rumored to have a new 2021 refresh and redesign of premiere sedan, Model S, and SUV, Model X, under the secret project "Palladium," which would feature a new body and motor. Rumors for the 2021 refresh promise a more powerful Model S and Model X, incorporating Tesla's latest technology for its electric vehicles.
One of the most popular electric vehicle manufacturers and clean energy company, Tesla, is speculated for a refresh for the leading sedan and SUV electric vehicles on its lineup for 2021. Both EVs are sporting designs that were initially released last 2019, meaning that 2021's redesign would be updating the look after two years.
Tesla: EU Price Increase Might Mean Model S and X Refresh for 2021
The rumors came from Electrek's report of the European region's massive price increase, which signifies the soon coming refresh for both Model S and Model X. Tesla also made its Model 3 increase its price for the EU market for as much as €500 to €1,000 ($600 to $1,200 as of Nov. 25).
The primary vehicles that received price increases are Model S and Model X, which increased as much as €5,000 or almost $6,000 (as of Nov. 25) for the EU market. The rise in costs came directly after the slated software update for the electric vehicle's systems.
However, despite the massive price increase in the European market, the United States' Tesla market prices remain the same and are experiencing one of its lowest prices for the brand new units. This price would see further price slashes after tax grants for the buyers eligible for the exception.
Tesla Model S and X: 2021 Refresh Rumors are Now Spreading
The refresh rumors for Model S and Model X are now anticipated by the company's future customers and Tesla fans. Tesla's plans for the Model S and Model X are still unknown as the company keeps a tight lid on any news that surrounds future releases for its EVs.
Speculations from Electrek singled out the "Palladium" unique secret project that was initiated in early July this year. This refresh would focus on both premiere vehicles from Tesla, offering a new body and car specifications for increased performance.
The "Palladium" secret project would also focus on a new tri-motor design for both EVs, along with a reconfigured drivetrain, battery pack design, and powertrain. The personal project is also rumored to be the foundation of Tesla's Model S Plaid version design with a massive performance increase under its hood.
The rumors are still tightrope as there is no announcement or reveals from Tesla yet; however, the Model S Plaid will roll-out its initial models come 2021. There would also be a massive possibility that "Palladium" Model S and X will join the Plaid version and mimic its design to increase performance.
