Going by Consumer Reports' ranking, Apple's recently launched iPhone 11 Pro Max is the best smartphone to buy at the moment.
That's not all either. The testing outfit also puts the iPhone 11 Pro in second place and the iPhone 11 in the top 10.
Strong Points
According to Consumer Reports, the factors that made the iPhone 11 Pro Max and iPhone 11 Pro get the top spots in its ranking are their battery life and cameras.
The iPhone 11 Pro Max managed to last an impressive 40.5 hours, beating the 29.5 hours of its predecessor, the iPhone XS Max, by 11 hours. Meanwhile, the iPhone Pro ran 34 hours before shutting down, lasting 6.5 hours longer than the 27.5 hours of the iPhone XS.
As for how the company conducts its battery test, it uses a robotic finger made to "simulate a consumer's average day." That includes browsing the internet, making calls, taking pictures, and using GPS navigation.
Consumer Reports doesn't really expand on the cameras, but it does say that its testers say that the iPhone 11 Pro Max and iPhone 11 Pro "notched some of the highest scores in our ratings for still-image quality." Also, the trio, including the standard iPhone 11, scored an Excellent rating for their rear-video quality.
More Improvements
The organization says that the iPhone 11 Pro Max and iPhone 11 Pro improved on a lot of areas as well, which also helped them earn the top spots in the ranking.
These include a more durable glass build and a higher level of water resistance, as well as louder speakers than the previous iteration, brighter displays, and better performance, thanks to the smartphones' new A13 Bionic chip.
Regarding the iPhone 11, it lasted 28 hours on a single charge, beating the iPhone XR's 27.5 hours by about 30 minutes, and it got a Very Good rating in image quality to boot, both of which allowed it to get eighth place.
For the past few years, Samsung's smartphones have been outperforming Apple's in the ranking, but with the iPhone 11 Pro Max and iPhone 11 Pro, the Cupertino brand is turning the tide.
