The Samsung Galaxy A6 and A6 Plus have leaked again, showing the devices in all their glory, complete with spec details.
Samsung's Galaxy A series consists of mid-range devices with sleek designs and some upper-range features borrowed from higher-end Samsung handsets. They typically offer good value for money, delivering a solid overall package at an affordable price point.
Samsung Galaxy A6 Line
The Samsung Galaxy A6 and Galaxy A6 Plus recently passed through TENAA, China's equivalent of the FCC, signaling that they could make an imminent debut.
German outlet WinFuture has now released more details about the upcoming devices, including official renders that show the smartphones from both the front and back, and more information about their specifications.
Galaxy A6 And Galaxy A6 Plus Specifications
According to the report (translated), the Samsung Galaxy A6 and Galaxy A6 Plus will both feature Super AMOLED Infinity Displays with 18:9 aspect ratios, albeit the bezels will not be as thin as on the flagship Galaxy smartphones.
The Galaxy A6 will have a 5.6-inch display with an HD+ resolution of 1,480 x 720 pixels, while the Galaxy A6 Plus will have a 6-inch display with a higher full HD+ resolution of 2,220 x 1,080 pixels.
The two smartphones will likely come as the successors to last year's Galaxy A5 series, lower-specced and priced than the sleeker Galaxy A8. Under the hood, both the Galaxy A6 and Galaxy A6 Plus could pack in-house Samsung Exynos 7870 processors running at 1.6 GHz tops, paired with 3 GB of RAM.
The handsets will reportedly come with 32 GB of internal storage for the base models, but in some markets, they might also be available in 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB storage configurations. Users will likely be able to expand the native storage space with the help of a microSD card.
Both the Galaxy A6 and the Galaxy A6 Plus will have rear-mounted fingerprint scanners, but they will reportedly support facial recognition as well.
When it comes to battery capacity, both handsets should deliver a good performance on a single charge. The Galaxy A6 will come with a 3,000 mAh battery, while the Galaxy A6 Plus will have a larger 3,500 mAh unit. Only the Galaxy A6 Plus will have a USB Type-C port.
Galaxy A6 And Galaxy A6 Plus Cameras
In the camera department, the Galaxy A6 will reportedly have a 16-megapixel main camera with an f/1.7 aperture and a 16-megapixel front shooter with an f/1.9 aperture.
The Galaxy A6 Plus, meanwhile, will sport a dual rear camera setup consisting of 16-megapixel and 5-megapixel cameras to better capture the depth of field and offer additional features. On the front, the larger Galaxy A6 Plus will reportedly boast a 24-megapixel selfie cam with an f/1.9 aperture and an LED flash.
Galaxy A6 Series Pricing And Availability
According to WinFuture, the Galaxy A6 series will debut in May and the price will start at between €360 and €400, depending on the market. The handsets will ship with Android 8.1 Oreo and Samsung's UX on board out of the box.
