A gigantic leak of information about Red Dead Redemption 2 was released recently. Red Dead Redemption 2 was recently pushed back again to October, so it will be a waiting game for the information to be confirmed with such a far off release date.
One of the biggest rumors from the leak is that Red Dead Redemption 2would feature a Battle Royale Mode.
Red Dead Leaks
The information regarding the game was posted by Trusted Reviews, saying it received the information way back in August 2017. It didn't post the information because at first it was believed to be a lie. It was only recently that it was able to corroborate the information and share it.
Just like Grand Theft Auto V, Red Dead Redemption 2 will have an online component. This mode will have three different games mode including Battle Royale, Revive and Survive, and Money Grab. Battle Royale is currently in vogue, and has seen mainstream appeal thanks to games like PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds and Fortnite.
Revive and Survive splits players into two teams, in which in a set amount of time both teams must try to survive before they are eliminated. Money Grab features two teams fighting and finding bags of money that they must collect and take to their bases as quickly as possible.
Just like GTA Online, players will be able to roam an open world, have their own apartment, and play missions in the world of Red Dead Redemption 2, with opportunities to mine, fish, herd, and collect weapons.
Red Dead 2 will also have a companion app which will include a poker mini-game.
New Features
The leak didn't offer any information about the campaign in the game. However, it did put into detail some new features that could be found in the game. These include horsemanship challenges that can increase the rider rank. There are also dozens of different fish that could be found in the game.
Red Dead 2 will reportedly allow crafting with plants and herbs. As mentioned before, fishing will come with the ability to buy different baits and tackles, and allow players to buy worms.
A unique feature is that the game could be played in first-person mode. This game mode will feature custom animations for first-person mode.
The Dead Eye feature will get an upgrade that includes tracking bounties through fields, and seeing which fish and animals are available nearby.
Players will be able to extract information from non-player characters. Like the GTA titles and the previous Red Dead game, the wanted level makes a return which makes players pay for their actions. Actions will also play a big role during campaign missions. Depending on how players interact with the story, missions may have different outcomes.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is scheduled to come out in October.
