Rockstar Games will unveil something next week, and it will likely be about Red Dead Redemption 2.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is the highly anticipated third installment in the Western action-adventure series, and the successor to Red Dead Redemption which was released back in 2010 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
Rockstar Games Prepares 'Red Dead Redemption 2' Announcement
Red Dead Redemption 2 was initially slated to be one of the first titles to showcase the capabilities of the Xbox One X and was one of the most anticipated games for 2017, alongside titles such as Resident Evil 7, Mass Effect: Andromeda, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Persona 5, and Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite. All of these games have now been released, while Rockstar Games has pushed back the Red Dead Redemption 2 release date to spring 2018.
Fans of the Western franchise have since been starved of new information regarding Red Dead Redemption 2. Rockstar Games, however, will be feeding gamers with new information about the game next week.
In a tweet, Rockstar Games uploaded an image that contained the date of Sept. 28 and the time of 11:00 a.m. ET, alongside its website and logo. The text does not explicitly state that the announcement will be about Red Dead Redemption 2, but the bright red background of the image is the only clue that we need to know that it will be about the third Red Dead game.
What Will Rockstar Games Say About 'Red Dead Redemption 2'?
The mysterious image has given rise to various theories on what Rockstar Games will unveil about Red Dead Redemption 2 next week.
Many gamers expect Rockstar Games to release a new trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2 on Sept. 23. The first trailer of the game mostly only showed scenes from the Western world that the game will create, so players would like to know more about its story and its gameplay. Hopefully, Rockstar Games is generous enough to launch both a story trailer and a gameplay trailer, but that is likely just wishful thinking.
Rockstar Games might also be planning to announce the specific release date for Red Dead Redemption 2, as all we know is that it will be launched no sooner than April 1 next year.
Lastly, PC gamers are hoping that Rockstar Games will reveal that Red Dead Redemption 2 will also be coming to the PC in addition to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Bungie will release Destiny 2 for the PC after Destiny was only released to consoles, and it is entirely possible that Rockstar Games will do the same thing for Red Dead Redemption 2.
