Ever since Sony started its PlayStation Plus program, the publisher has given its members a whole lot of love. Free games were only the start: members got early access to beta tests and exclusive sales on top of everything else. It's easy to see why the service started off with such a bang, and Sony's competitors were quick to adopt a similar model for their programs.
Starting on Dec. 1, Sony will release its latest batch of free and discounted games for its members. It makes a lot of sense to polish off the biggest shopping day of the year with a bit of free merch, and Sony is stepping things up for December's PlayStation Plus games.
For its newest console, Sony is giving its PlayStation Plus members one of the best fighting games in recent memory: Injustice: Gods Among Us. It's basically DC Comics meets Mortal Kombat (without all the gore), and considering the PlayStation 4 edition comes with all of the game's downloadable content, it's an even better deal. On top of Injustice, members will also receive Secret Ponchos and Titan Attacks!, an isometric multiplayer shooter and an arcade-style shoot-'em-up respectively.
For PlayStation 3 owners, Sony is giving away the horror game Deadly Premonition: Director's Cut, which is one of the most unique experiences in the survival horror genre. On top of that, the Hitman HD Trilogy is also up for grabs, and contains some of the best stealth games ever made. Die-hard Sony fans with both the PlayStation 3 and 4 will have access to Titan Attacks! on both consoles, too. Finally, PlayStation Vita owners will receive a copy of Final Horizon, a fast-paced tower defense strategy game, and Titan Attacks!.
Just keep in mind, an active PlayStation Plus membership is required to both play and keep the games: unlike Microsoft's offer, the games will expire if your PlayStation Plus subscription ends.
December is looking to be a great month for PlayStation Plus subscribers: whether it's knocking Batman through a skyscraper or taking out a target from three rooftops away, no one's going to be complaining about Sony's end of the year lineup.
