Sony is slashing prices on some big-name titles starting today on the PlayStation Store as part of its Co-Op sale, and it's the perfect opportunity to play with a friend over the holiday weekend.
More than 30 cooperative games are getting some deep discounts on the digital store from now until Dec. 1. The sales apply to all PlayStation gamers, with discounts reaching up to 65 percent off. If you happen to be a PlayStation Plus member, your discounts will be even greater -- up to 80 percent.
If you've been waiting to battle your way through hardcore titles like Borderlands 2 or Dark Souls II, now is your chance. Just be sure to bring a friend. Borderlands 2 is practically being given away for $4.54 for PlayStation Plus members, $6.49 for regular users. Dark Souls II isn't getting quite as steep a discount, but the game is still fairly new. You can snag it for $19.59 if you are a Plus member, or $27.99 for non-Plus members. Its regular price is $39.99. The excellent side-scrolling shooter Mercenary Kings is on sale for $8.99 on PS4. Two cooperative Tom Clancy experiences -- Ghost Recon: Future Soldier and Rainbow Six Vegas 2 -- are also on sale, each for $9.79 if you are a Plus member, or $13.99 if not.
There are plenty of more family-friendly games on sale as well. Angry Birds: Star Wars is on sale across all PlayStation platforms, as well as LEGO: The Hobbit and Rayman: Legends. You can check out the full listing of games on sale here.
This is just the beginning of the digital game sales. Microsoft and Xbox will be doing their own Black Friday digital deals starting on Friday and running through the weekend. It is rumored the Steam Autumn Sale will begin this weekend as well, much to the pain of wallets everywhere. Tis the season for gaming, and gamers will have no shortage of deals and discounts to capitalize on.
