The next generation of consoles is here, but for those that haven't made the jump yet, things are better than ever. There's nearly a decade's worth of titles out there, and there seem to be new sales everyday. Plus, with digital distribution becoming more and more viable, gamers don't even have to leave the house to get in on the deals.
Aside from Steam's massive holiday events, Sony typically has the biggest sales in the industry. Even its weekly sales tend to be huge, with triple-A games frequently receiving major discounts. This week's sale is no different, with a long list of huge games for cheap.
Bioware's Mass Effect 3 is the major headliner of this week's sales: the epic space-opera shooter/RPG is only $3.99, and the rest of its DLC is all under $5. Considering the core game alone is roughly 30 hours worth of entertainment, grabbing everything for roughly $20 is a fantastic deal. It's not just Mass Effect 3, either: the original Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2 are both on sale for $4.49 and $10.49 respectively. That means that the entire Mass Effect franchise is available for $36.93 - so if you've got a few weeks to spare, it's a good place to start.
Of course, it wouldn't be much of a sale with just Mass Effect: other heavy hitters like Dead Space, Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, The Wolf Among Us, The Walking Dead, and the first two Crysis games are all massively discounted this week. Most of these games are available for less than $5, with PlayStation Plus users getting even better deals.
So, if you're looking for something to do this weekend (or for the next couple weekends) - Sony has you covered.
