Shadow of the Tomb Raider was nowhere in sight at E3 2017, but the logo and key art for the next Lara Croft adventure appeared elsewhere.
A marketing studio apparently uploaded creative materials for Shadow of the Tomb Raider by mistake, giving fans a glimpse of what to expect from the upcoming game.
Shadow Of The Tomb Raider Logo, Key Art Leaked
The leaked creative materials were discovered online on the website of TakeOff Creative, a marketing studio for video games based in Los Angeles. The studio has created trailers, websites, animations, collectibles, and press kits in the past, but it looks like it spoiled its latest project too early.
The logo and key art for Shadow of the Tomb Raider were found in plain sight in TakeOff's website, showing a range of logo options for the upcoming title as well as several key art that features Lara Croft.
Nothing can be learned from the logos, as the logo at the right, which features an image of Lara Croft, was lifted from the latest installment in the franchise, Rise of the Tomb Raider. The key art, however, reveal the usual range of weapons of Lara Croft, including a bow and arrow, a machete, and a spear. Pyramids can also be seen in some of the images.
Lara Croft is mostly shown in combat or exploring what appear to be ruins, which are probably the two things that can be expected from any Tomb Raider game.
It is unclear if the scenes depicted in the key art will appear in Shadow of the Tomb Raider, or if they are simply illustrations for possible promotional materials.
TakeOff Creative has worked with Square Enix in the past, which further confirms the authenticity of the leaked logo and key art. The creative materials, however, have been removed from the marketing studio's website.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Coming Soon?
Shadow of the Tomb Raider has not yet been officially unveiled, though many players expected the game to be revealed at the recently concluded E3 2017.
The title of the next Lara Croft game, however, was previously leaked because a person was working on a presentation for it in a Montreal subway. A Redditor was able to take a picture of the laptop screen, with the image showing Shadow of the Tomb Raider, one of the titles being considered for the next game in the franchise.
The creative materials leaked by TakeOff Creative confirm that it is not a working title. The marketing studio also has a branch in Montreal, matching the location of the Eidos subsidiary developing the game.
There is nothing else known about Shadow of the Tomb Raider, and there is also no knowledge on how far along development is for the game. Rise of the Tomb Raider was launched in November 2015 for the Xbox One and Xbox 360 and in October last year for the PlayStation 4, so it might just be time for Shadow of the Tomb Raider to be unveiled.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider may also be launched alongside the upcoming Tomb Raider movie in March 2018, which stars Alicia Vikander as Lara Croft. If so, the announcement for the game should come very soon.
