'Assassin's Creed: Origins' Release Date Leaks Ahead Of Expected Launch At E3

E3 2017 is almost here and once again gamers from around the globe will tune into the event to check out the full range of video games and gameplay-related materials that will be presented. Among the vast array of new titles expected to be announced at the event, Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed: Origins may be the most anticipated.

The Assassin's Creed series went on a hiatus in 2016 after the release of Assassin's Creed: Syndicate. The developers wanted to take some time to revolutionize the franchise, which drew some criticism from fans due to the lackluster gameplay mechanics.

However, Ubisoft will return to the franchise with Assassin's Creed: Origins and needless to say, most gamers have high hopes from the title. However, prior to the official reveal of the game at E3, a leak has surfaced online, which shares that the game's possible release date.

'Assassin's Creed: Origins' Release Date Revealed

According to images leaked on Reddit by a user named HungryGhost57, the next game in the Assassin's Creed franchise will likely release on October 27. The leaked images revealed a page from the next issue of Game Informer magazine.

The image shows an assassin standing atop the Great Sphinx of Giza in Egypt with the caption, "An empire falls, a brotherhood rises."

Previous leaks and reports indicate that Assassin's Creed: Origins will be set in ancient Egypt. It is also touted to feature naval combat, similar to the system present in Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag and also Assassin's Creed Rogue.

A leaked image of the game's preorder card also hinted at a Steelbook Gold Edition of the upcoming title, although the veracity of that leak remains circumspect.

Other Leaked Information Regarding 'Assassin's Creed: Origins'

HungryGhost57 also revealed some other information regarding the upcoming game, which he likely got from the same issue of Game Informer's magazine. The user said that the Assassin's Creed: Origins' combat system was completely revamped.

The minimap and other aspects of the Heads up Display or HUD have also undergone transformation vis-à-vis the earlier games in the Assassin's Creed franchise. Assassin's Creed: Origins will likely support a day and night cycle depending on which the NPC's patrol and movements will vary.

Controls have also been remapped for movement and climbing buildings and structures. The Reddit post also mentions the inclusion of underwater treasures, customizable gears that can be crafted, and a levelling-up system where the level cap is 40.

However, at this point, fans would do well to take the information with a grain of salt as Ubisoft is yet to confirm any of them. However, the studio's E3 conference is scheduled for Monday, June 12, which means gamers do not have to wait too long before more news arrives.
