Ubisoft has now announced both minimum and recommended requirements for PC players to run the forthcoming hacks-and-slash video game For Honor on their systems. This comes before the imminent For Honor multiplayer beta.
Luckily, the minimum specs requirements aren't astronomically high. PC gamers who at least have 4 GB of RAM can get away with running For Honor, but in addition to that, their rigs must also come packing with an Intel Core i3-550 or an AMD Phenom II X4 955 processor, with at least an Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 or an AMD Radeon HD 6970.
For Honor will run on PCs with either windows 7, 8.1, or 10, and will support the traditional keyboard and mouse controllers, alongside other third-party game pads, such as the Xbox One controller, DualShock 4, and others.
One metric that's missing, however, is the required storage space. Taking a look at previous AAA titles, however, one can glean that at least 50 GB of free space — just to be sure — must be allocated for a game of such a scale. Additionally, the minimum requirements will only render gameplay in 720p at 30 fps, at the game's lowest settings.
For those who want to play For Honor in 1080p at 60 fps, players's rigs would need to come packing with at least an Intel i5-2500K or an AMD FX-6350 processor. Their systems should also have at least 8 GB of RAM, with at least an Nvidia GeForce GTX 680 or an AMD Radeon R9 280X GPU onboard.
However, these, along with the minimum settings have v-sync disabled, so those who want it enabled should have higher-end hardware than Ubisoft's recommended requirements.
For Honor launches on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 on Feb. 14, which comes two weeks after the game's closed multiplayer beta, running from Jan. 26 to 29.
The game was announced during E3 2015, featuring a hand-to-hand combat system; the so-called Art of Battle, as put down by its developers. It allows players to assume the role of historical soldiers such as, samurai, vikings, and more. It's set within a medieval fantasy environment.
