There is nothing more refreshing than the start of a new month, especially when it comes to knowing that new content is about to be released on viewers' favorite streaming platforms. August is a month that should be entirely embraced with binge-watching sessions before back-to-school season kicks off, and before we know it, it's the holidays again.
That means make sure to get outside and soak in some sun as much as possible, as well as carve out enough time for last-minute local family trips and lazy days spent worrying about nothing — because nothing is better than summer living.
So, when it comes to time spent in front of screens, just know that Netflix, Hulu and Amazon is adding lots of new content to its libraries that will be worth taking a day or two to just relax.
This includes the release of the animated movie The Little Prince on Netflix as well as the new kids' series Beat Bugs with songs from the Beatles. Hulu is hooking its users up with episodes of series like Houdini and Doyle and Casual, and Prime Video is adding classics like The Matrix trilogy and original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movies.
Here's a rundown of what's new to Netflix, Hulu, Prime Video and Amazon Video in August.
NETFLIX
This streaming service is making sure children of all ages are entertained as we approach the home stretch of summer. Stop hearing little ones complain they are bored by streaming The Little Prince on Aug. 5 and the new original series Ask the StoryBot on Aug. 12. Also on this date, members can stream another original series, The Get Down, or check out the EDM movie XOXO on Aug. 26.
Of course, there will be plenty of titles available starting on the first of the month, including Big Daddy, The Fast and the Furious, The Real Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Star Trek Nemesis.
However, members will have to say goodbye to movies like The Sandlot, The Pursuit of Happyness and A Nightmare on Elm Street 2 in order to make room for the new ones.
