OnePlus 3 images recently leaked, but there was no evidence if the device in action was actually the rumored prototype.
A Weibo post now shows new proof of the gadget, and although it is hard to say whether we are looking at the same phone or not, there is a high chance that this is the much-expected OnePlus 3.
The new images might still be unofficial leaks, but the backside of the handset shown here is similar to the previous leaks. An additional detail from the recent leaks is that the device actually powers on and displays the startup logo. This means that we have a OnePlus phone on our hands, and the software that it runs on appears to be the Oxygen OS.
One reason to believe that we're still looking at a prototype is that the build quality seems lackluster. What we can take from the images is the overall shape of the handset and the design of the fingerprint sensor-carrying home button.
Insiders from the company said the OnePlus 3 should come out in June, but more recent rumors claim that the device is set to land much earlier, on May 18. The date is far from random, as it comes from GizmoChina, one of the reliable sources when it comes to information pertaining to Chinese OEMs.
GeekBench did unveil some of what is under the hood of the upcoming device. According to the listing, two models of OnePlus 3 are in store. The first one comes with a solid 64 GB of default storage and a beastly 6 GB of RAM, while the second device features 32 GB of standard memory and only 4 GB of RAM.
Both phones are purportedly carrying the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and NFC capabilities. Graphics will come via an Adreno 530 GPU, powering a screen that is expected to be a 5.5-inch Full HD. The screen should display 1,920 x 1,080p resolutions.
When looking at the main camera from the OnePlus 3, a 16-megapixel is expected to come packing optical image stabilization and 4K video recording support. The selfie snapper from the front of the device carries an 8-megapixel sensor.
The power source of the device is said to be a strong 3,500 mAh battery.
As more information about the anticipated OnePlus 3 hits the media, we will keep you posted.
