Good news for consumers in Canada who have been eyeing LG's modular smartphone — the LG G5 — for a while now. Canadians can now snag the Android-powered LG G5 flagship for a cheaper price.
Nearly a month after the LG G5 released in the region, the South Korean company has discounted the handset by $100. The latest LG smartphone is now on sale at select network operators in Canada per reports.
On May 6, LG shaved off $100 on the smartphone when people purchase it on a two-year contract from the carriers Telus, Bell, MTS and SaskTel. Thanks to the offer, Canadian consumers will be able to purchase the LG G5 — which was released in the country on April 8 — for just $199.99. Normally, the handset costs $299.99 on a two-year contract.
"For a limited time, get $100 off the LG G5 on a 2-year term after a trade-in bonus. Visit a Bell store for details," notes Bell.
How To Avail The Offer?
To avail the LG offer, one is required to trade-in a handset in lieu of the LG G5.
Any Caveats?
The $100 off the LG G5 is a limited period offer and has some caveats such as that the promotion is valid only at "participating locations" of the carriers Bell, MTS, SaskTel and Telus. One needs to be the legal owner of the handset that is being traded in and over 18 years. Moreover, the number of phones per trade-in is restricted to one. The rebate of $100 will be applied during purchase time when the consumers is buying the handset in store. The trade-in is applied after the necessary taxes.
To refresh your memory, the LG G5 sports a 5.3-inch QHD screen with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels. Under the hood, the smartphone boasts the powerful and latest Snapdragon 820 processor from Qualcomm (clocked at 2GHz) and 4 GB of RAM.
The LG flagship also offers support for a fingerprint scanner, which is mounted on the rear of the handset, and USB Type-C port. The smartphone also has two rear-facing cameras and offers 32 GB of on-board memory (with microSD card support). It is powered by a 2,800 mAh battery and comes pre-loaded with Android Marshmallow.
If you are still eyeing better bargains for the smartphone, then you're in luck, as Videotron, Wind and Eastlink have priced the LG G5 for even lower, and the handset will cost you $179, $149 and $0, respectively.
