Users of the LG G5 often complain of some common problems that plague the handset, such as issues with the LED notifications, battery drainage, connectivity issues for Wi-Fi or Bluetooth and more.
We take a look at some common issues that LG G5 users encounter and offer a workaround to resolve the same.
1. LED Notifications Issue
Several LG G5 users are faced with the problem of the LED not lighting up for SMS or downloaded app notifications. The LED works for stock apps but not the third-party ones. To counter this problem, here's what you need to do:
Step 1: Press Home Button > Tools > Settings > go to Sound tab.
Step 2: Next, tap on the Notification LED.
Step 3: Tap on the Notification LED switch to activate the LED lights option for notifications.
Step 4: Zone in on the type of notification you wish the LED light to flash. Select the same and you're good to go!

3. Wi-Fi Connectivity Issue
Issues with the Wi-Fi connectivity of the smartphone is also a common problem for many LG G5 users. Here is a workaround to counter the issue:
Step 1: Switch off your Wi-Fi router and the LG G5. Wait for 10 seconds before switching both on again and attempting to reconnect.
Step 2: Go to Settings of your LG G5 and navigate to "Power Saving" option. Check if this disabled. If not, disable the same.
Step 3: Navigate to Settings and go to the Wi-Fi option. Next, long tap on the Wi-Fi option to select "Forget."
Step 4: Once the connection has been forgotten, enter the Wi-Fi connection details again and attempt to reconnect the LG G5 to the Wi-Fi router.
Step 5: Navigate to Wi-Fi > Settings > Advanced. Note the device's MAC address. Check if this address is allowed access in the MAC filter on the router. If not, enable the same.
Important: Make sure that your LG G5 is on the latest available software. Ensure the firmware for your router is also up to date.
4. Bluetooth Connectivity Problem
Many LG G5 users encounter problems connecting to Bluetooth. Here is a workaround to tackle the issue.
Step 1: Navigate to Settings > Bluetooth. Make sure the settings are okay.
Step 2: Go to Settings and access Bluetooth again.
Step 3: Delete any old pairings.
Step 4: Set up a new pairing.
5. Battery Life
Many LG G5 users complain of the device's battery life. Here are a few tips to reduce battery drainage.
• Turn off features. To do so, go to the notification panel and switch of things you do not require.
• Switch of the Always-On display. Navigate to Settings > Display and toggle the Always-On off.
• Decrease the brightness of the screen. Navigate to Settings > Display > Screen timeout. Reduce it to the lowest brightness you are comfortable with.
• Deploy the power saving mode. Go to Settings > Battery and power saving. Turn the option on.
6. Backlight Bleeding Problem
Several LG G5 users have complained of the backlight bleeding problem that plagues the device's LCD panel, where bright patches pop up on the corners and edges of the LG G5's screen. Moreover, users face a "blooming" issue where basically the pressure one applies on the touchscreen leads to its distortion.
A basic workaround for the problem is to download the Backlight Bleed Test app for Android from the Google Play store. One can basically use the app to inspect if the issue exists with LCD screen of the LG G5. Unfortunately, there is no permanent solution. If you are among the unlucky ones suffering from the issue, then it is best to notify the carrier or retailer from where the handset was purchase, then request a replacement.
