Sony officially launched the Xperia Z5 Premium Pink handset, which boasts a sophisticated mirror effect design on the rear to complement the impressive 4K display.
Sony revealed the Z5 Premium Pink device in a Twitter message where it also attached a photo showing the handset in a cherry-blossom inspired pink hue.
Sony first hinted at the pink version of the Xperia Z5 Premium in early January through a post on its official Instagram account. It added that the pink handset was inspired by the Sakura cherry blossom of Japan.
As for the specs, the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium comes with a 5.5-inch 4K Triluminos Display, 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810, Android 5.1, waterproof and dust tight IP rating and a battery life of up to 2 days.
"Meet our ground-breaking battery life that allows you to do more, for longer," says Sony Mobile. "Plus, if two days of power isn't enough, there are ways to increase your battery life to get even more usage. Charging no longer needs to disrupt your day."
Users can increase the standby mode of their Xperia handset by more than four times using the Extended standby mode. They can also turn on the handset's Extended usage mode in order to gain an extra 14 percent of runtime. For heavy users who want a battery that can last for several days, they can try switching on the handset's Ultra Stamina Mode to start taking advantage of its core function usage.
The new pink color of the handset follows the Chrome design version that features a mirror effect design as opposed to the matte finish on the handset's Black and Gold versions.
"The color was first created for Xperia Z5 Pink and the hue also lent itself well to the finish of the Z5 Premium," says Murai-san, the designer of the handset. "As with other Z5 Premium devices we wanted to give an expression of light, so we adapted the color to the Z5 Premium's materials, the result is a deeper, rich tone due to its glossy finish - the perfect complement to its Premium name tag."
Sony is yet to announce other details such as pricing, launch date and target markets. Rumors indicate that the pink version of the Xperia Z5 Premium will be available in certain Asian markets that include Mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
