Sony still hasn't quite settled down on a price for the Xperia Z5 lineup yet, as the smartphone maker cuts prices that go from $55 to $70 yet again.
First things first, the Xperia Z5 rolled out with a $599.99 price tag, and it got $70.04 shaved off it. It's now available for $529.95.
Next up, the Z5 Compact model hit the shelves at $499.99, and it had a $55.88 price drop. It now goes for $444.11.
Both the Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z5 Compact are available on Amazon, and for those who are wondering, they're unlocked versions of the smartphones.
The Z5 generation consists of three devices: the Xperia Z5, Z5 Compact and Z5 Premium. They all share pretty much the same hardware specifications, but they do have a few differences with the some features.
Each one of the trio has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 under the hood, 32 GB worth of internal storage, a 23-megapixel f/2.0 rear camera plus a 5.1-megapixel f/2.4 front shooter, IP68 dust and water resistance and a new power button that doubles as a fingerprint sensor, which was oddly taken out of the U.S. models. Out of the box, they run on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, and they can be upgraded to Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
They sport different display sizes and push out varying resolutions. As their names suggest, the Z5 Compact is fitted with the smallest screen out of the three, measuring at 4.6 inches with a 720 x 1,280 resolution. That's a tad smaller compared with the Z5's 5.2-inch display and resolution clocked at 1,080 x 1,920. Touted as the world's first 4K smartphone, the Z5 Premium stands out from the pack, boasting a 5.5-inch screen and a 2,160 x 3,840 resolution.
One last difference is the RAM. The Z5 Compact is loaded with 2 GB of RAM, whereas the remaining two are equipped with 3 GB of RAM.
As everyone can see, the components they bring to the table are clearly remarkable to a certain degree, and with these discounts, their prices are right - or at least, a little better.
