The Huawei flagship model P9 has a sibling, and it's been spotted in the wild. The Huawei P9 Lite, which did not share the same limelight as the Huawei P9, has come into the picture regardless, before its official launch in April.
Sharing the same fate as the much talked-about flagship, the leaked handset images have been prematurely found online, complete with detailed information on specifications. The rumor mill also speaks of a P9 Max that was supposed to be launched alongside the P9 Lite.
Reportedly sporting a metal finish, the handset will feature a full HD 5.6-inch display with a 13 megapixel single rear camera and an 8 megapixel front-facing camera, which is a far cry from the top-end models housing a Leica camera with dual lens. Available in two versions with 3 GB or 2 GB of RAM, the handset is said to have an in-built storage amount of 16 GB, with a slot for memory cards that can be expanded up to 128 GB.
The color variants are in Black, White and Rose Gold, all of which sport a fingerprint scanner and run on the same 3000 mAh battery that keeps Huawei's flagship phone powered.
So far, the rumored specifications almost match the ones we reported a month ago. While we previously couldn't show you what the Lite handset looked like, here's a series of images of the P9 Lite that have surfaced on gsminfo.nl.
The website also displays a price tag against the leaked images, along with reviews weighing the pros and cons of the handset. The price has been set at €315, which is around $358.
However, while it is good to get an unofficial sneak peek at a soon-to-be-launched smartphone, all rumored information needs to be taken with a grain of salt until Huawei rolls out the real thing this month.
