Samsung releases the update Samsung+ 3.0, and it comes with a new feature called Assist.
Samsung Assist
Right off the bat, Samsung Assist takes customer service to a whole new level. Thanks to that, any Galaxy S7 or S7 edge owner can let a Samsung representative take the helm and remotely troubleshoot their device at a tap of a button anywhere.
Of course, the user will have to give the representative permission before they can tinker with the handset, and it can be done through voice call or video chat.
"Brand new for Samsung+ 3.0, 'Samsung Assist' feature brings users hands-on support, direct to their screens wherever they are," Samsung says.
This service is especially useful for those who aren't exactly attuned to the ins and outs of smartphones in terms of both hardware and software. On the other hand, it should also be noted that even tech-savvies can benefit from it, particularly in the carrier settings department, but to put it differently, they will no longer need to help their friends and family members who aren't that knowledgeable in technology with setting up their devices anymore.
As suggested earlier, it's unfortunately available only for the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge for now, but Samsung says that it will come to other Galaxy smartphones and tablets via carrier updates "over the coming weeks."
Other Add-ons
Other goodies that Samsung is rolling out include Live Support, On Demand Answers, Device Diagnostics, Tips & Tricks and Community.
Live Support is already pretty straightforward: A customer can get in touch with a Samsung customer service representative through video chat, text or call.
For consumers who prefer to take things into their own hands, On Demand Answers is the guide that consists of FAQs and various tips for troubleshooting, allowing them to find solutions independently.
As for Device Diagnostics, it's a feature that lets users monitor the status of their devices, including battery health, data and security.
Going on over to Tips & Tricks, it's a collection of information regarding how users can make the most out of their devices.
Lastly, Community is a compilation of user-based forums across Samsung+ and the smartphone maker's website. This is great news for users who want to get information by interacting with other users instead of speaking with a customer service representative.
Availability
For those who hasn't updated yet and those who want to get their hands on it, the Samsung+ 3.0 is already up on Google Play.
