Henry Cavill, the Man of Steel himself, says that making movies is not just about art and he is completely honest about enjoying the luxuries that he can afford from the pay he receives from his films.
He also said in a recent interview published in "Man of the World" issue number 15 that he is a bit cautious about his opinion since it is frowned upon in the industry but that the money he earns is very important.
Most people already know that Cavill has a different take on the iconic character he plays and that he can be candid with kids, but now we know he is not afraid to admit that he is not one of the celebrities who are quick to say that they are working for the sake of their art.
Cavill knows he may receive some negative feedback from some people but he is completely honest about enjoying what his big earnings can afford him and how he is able to share his blessings with his loved ones because of it.
"When I'm making money I'm spending it on nice stuff [...] Spending money on my friends, buying dinner for everyone, drinks for everyone, it's a nice place to be, and I like people to feel cared for," he said.
The 32-year-old actor says that he may sound cocky about the whole thing but that he does not want to be coy about the indulgences and extra comfort he can afford now.
"[...] Travel's great as long as you're going first class. [...] Especially if you're over six feet. [...]I'm not going to ever pretend to be coy about that. I love it," he added.
Cavill does have a point, because while artists who are steadfast in their career for the sake of art are admirable, we all have to admit that getting paid well is necessary, otherwise there would not be issues on raising wage or gender wage gap.
Cavill will fly again in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" on March 25.
