It's kind of a big deal anytime a Hollywood celebrity signs up for a social media account these days.
It probably shouldn't be. They're just ordinary people, like the rest of us, right? Except that when celebs sign on to Twitter or Facebook or Instagram, they have this nagging tendency to jump ship after a while. They get too busy to keep up with it and vanish, or face one too many trolls and decide to throw in the towel.
Current reigning box office Superman, British actor Henry Cavill, has just joined Instagram. As social networks go, that's probably the easiest one to justify. You rarely hear of flame wars breaking out on Instagram, because it's a network for posting snapshots. So hopefully he'll make himself at home there.
Along with signing up, Cavill made his very first post, comprised of the cover of the next issue of Total Film. The cover image features himself as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, from the 2016 blockbuster team-up Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Cavill's full text goes like this:
So I've finally taken the leap into social media! And here's a little treat for you all in the form of a sneak peak of the Batman v Superman cover shot from Total Film magazine, before the issue comes out on Friday. |
And here's the cover image.
Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice is due in theaters on March 25, 2016.
