The rumor mill has recently been churning with news regarding Huawei's upcoming new flagship smartphone, the Huawei P9. One of the latest rumors states that there will at least be four models of the Huawei P9 that will be released.
Users that are looking forward to the smartphone expect it to be unveiled by Huawei at a media event on March 9, but new information has surfaced that could be setting the announcement of the Huawei P9 at a later date.
Huawei has released invitations for an event that will be occurring on April 6, bearing the text "change the way you see the world" and the cryptic hashtag #OO.
The invitation, which was acquired by Hungarian website Tech2, provides big clues that the April 6 event will indeed be the day when the Huawei P9 will be unveiled. The #OO hashtag can be connected to the dual 12MP rear-facing cameras that will be featured at the back of the smartphone, as the lens are placed next to each other.
The text "change the way you see the world" could be referring to new ways that users can take pictures and record videos, using the dual-camera setup of the Huawei P9.
In addition to the Huawei P9, it is expected that there will also be a Huawei P9 Max, a Huawei P9 Lite and a model that will pack extra RAM and a screen size between the Huawei P9 and the Huawei P9 Max.
The Huawei P9 will be powered by the Kirin 950 chipset with 3 GB of RAM and default storage of 32 GB. The Huawei P9 Lite will be the lower-end model, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 with 2 GB of RAM and default storage of 16 GB. On the other end of the spectrum are the Huawei P9 Max and the custom Huawei P9, which will be packing the Kirin 955 chipset with 4 GB of RAM and default storage of 64 GB. All the models of the Huawei P9 will have the dual-camera setup at the back.
The Huawei P9 Lite will be the cheapest at about $289, while the Huawei P9 Max will be the most expensive at about $627.
