Well-known rap mogul, Suge Knight, was injured in a shooting early Sunday morning at a nightclub where Chris Brown was performing. It is understood that Knight was shot six times and that he and Brown were the intended targets.
Suge Knight was not the only person injured in the gunfire. We understand two other victims, a man and a woman, were also shot, but they are expected to recover from their wounds. In addition, Knight is also expected to recover, so it appears the six gunshot wounds were not life threatening.
At the moment, authorities are still searching for a suspect in the shooting, along with information to pinpoint why it happened in the first place.
"Literally can't believe what I just witnessed," one attendee, Katie Clendon, tweeted after she was seemingly inside the club. "Someone tried to fire shots at Chris Brown at 1oak. Speechless."
After being shot, Knight exited the building and took refuge in a police car. Soon after, an ambulance came along, and he was quickly taken to a hospital. As of now, no one is sure which hospital Knight is getting treatment.
The incident took place just mere hours before the MTV Video Music Awards. Chris Brown was co-hosting the party. It is not certain why anyone would want to kill Chris Brown or Suge Knight, but police have a few ideas that could shed some light on the incident.
The police department believes that this shooting may have much to do with Suge Knight and Chris Brown's rumored affiliation with the "Blood Gang." This could be the reason for the attack, or it could very well be for something else entirely.
We understand that Justin Bieber was also at the concert, but it is not certain if he was also targeted.
After the whole thing had taken place, Chris Brown took to Twitter to show his disgust at society and the shooters.
"It's disappointing that we as a society can't have fun or enjoy ourselves without any altercations sometimes," Brown tweeted early Sunday morning. "Miss me with the bulls**t!!!"
We hope that Suge Knight and the other two victims pull through quickly enough. Chances are police might never catch this shooter, because even if Knight knew the person, he wouldn't say a word due to fear of being labeled a snitch.
