Mortal Kombat X fans might be delighted to know that developer NetherRealm Studios is letting them try out the game's new characters at no cost this weekend.
NetherRealm recently introduced its Kombat Pack 2 DLC both for Xbox One and PS4, incorporating the new characters into the fighting game. The standalone pack is pegged at $20.
How To Play The Characters For Free
To play Bo'Rai Cho, Leatherface, Triborg or Alien, gamers need to make sure that their Mortal Kombat X game has been updated with the latest patch so they can gain access to the new DLC characters.
Gamers can then head to the Living Towers menu. From there, they will see that the Premium Tower is set to "Who's Next" mode. Gamers will then be able to play through the different DLC characters as they take part in fights.
This offering is seen as a good way to let gamers make an informed purchase.
In related news, the developer also lately launched the complete edition of the game, Mortal Kombat XL, on Xbox One and PS4. This bundles all the DLCs of the fighting game together. This also comes packed with new character skins.
The preorder for Mortal Kombat XL started in January via the Xbox store.
"One of the best-selling titles of 2015 has gone XL!" says the teaser of the fighting game at the Xbox store. "Komplete The Mortal Kombat X Experience with new and existing content. Includes the main game, and new playable characters the Xenomorph from Alien, Leatherface, Tri-borg and Bo'Rai Cho."
The developer says that Mortal Kombat XL is not a game expansion nor a sequel. This includes DLCs and additional content related to the Mortal Kombat X game.
The game carried a preorder price of $59.99. The developer even let players download the game through Xbox Live before its official release date.
