Dark Souls 3 isn't out yet and it officially doesn't have a season pass, but a recent listing for the game on the Australian Xbox One store says otherwise.
One Reddit user discovered mention of a Dark Souls 3 season pass on the game's Australian digital preorder page. While no price is mentioned for the season pass, the store page does specifically state that the game will be receiving two DLC packs which will add new maps, bosses, enemies, weapons and armor for players to enjoy. Sounds like the season pass for the third entry in the franchise will be similar to that of the post-launch content for Dark Souls 2, which included two major expansions that were later bundled together and rereleased in Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin edition.
This news comes just as players, once again via the Australian Xbox One store, discovered that those who preordered a digital version of Dark Souls 3 would receive a copy of the original Dark Souls as well, which will soon be playable on Xbox One thanks to the system's newfound backwards compatibility. You can read more about that here.
Dark Souls 3 will be the latest in From Software's notoriously difficult action-RPG series. Both Dark Souls and Dark Souls 2 have launched on both Xbox and PlayStation platforms, though the Dark Souls spiritual successor Bloodborne remains a PlayStation 4 exclusive. With the arrival of the first Dark Souls as backwards compatible, each entry in the franchise will be playable on Xbox One.
Dark Souls 3 is set to arrive on March 24 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The latest batch of screenshots for the game arrived at the end of last month, revealing some terrifying looking new enemies and locations for players to conquer and explore. Most of the images appear to be from the beginning of the game, where From Software says players "will find themselves revived in the Untended Graves as an "Unkindled" and will have to face the mighty Iudex Gundyr as a test to prove their worth before heading into Firelink Shrine."
