Bungie's sci-fi shooter Destiny is about to get a whole lot blockier. Announced at New York Toy Fair, Destiny is becoming a line of Mega Blok toy sets.
Players will soon be able to craft block versions of the game's iconic jumpships and sparrows, but it's not just vehicles that are becoming Mega Blok sets. Enemies like the Fallen will also be joining the building party, alongside Fallen enemies like Shanks and the formidable Walker tanks. The sets also look to include detailed figures for Destiny player classes like the Titan, Warlock and Hunter.
"From our most detailed micro action figure yet to iconic new vehicles and scenes taken straight from the game, gamers and construction fans alike will be able to build their own vision of Destiny's legendary universe - making the game come alive through construction for the first time ever!" Mega Bloks says in an official announcement.
Mega Bloks isn't listing prices or a definitive release date, but expect to see these on store shelves before the end of the year. You can watch a video about some of the new construction toys below.
Destiny joins the ranks of other video games turned Mega Blok construction toys like Halo and Call of Duty. Whereas LEGO owns the rights to make construction toys based on Marvel, DC and Star Wars, Mega Bloks has recently made a name for itself by adapting video game properties. Considering Destiny is one of the biggest new IPs in recent gaming memory, it's definitely a big score for Mega Bloks.
If you're on the lookout for more Destiny news, it was recently announced the game will be receiving a large expansion later this year, with Destiny 2 to come sometime in 2017.
This has been a big week for video game toys and collectibles, as Dark Horse announced The Witcher 3 statues, while Jinx has announced vinyl figures based on the popular action/RPG. Mattel also unveiled some incredible Halo figures that are set to be released later this year.
