Destiny's February update is now live on all platforms, and that means it's time to dive into the game's new Crimson Days event.
The special Crimson Doubles 2v2 Crucible playlist has been added to the game. It requires a premade team of two and is like a normal 2v2 battle, but with a twist. When a partner is down, the surviving member of the team will receive a "Heartbroken" buff that maxes out a player's stats and increases reload speed for a short period of time.
Weekly Crucible bounties from Lord Shaxx have now been replaced with Crimson Doubles bounties for the duration of the event, which is set to last until Feb. 16. In addition to the Crucible playlist, players will now find some new emotes are available from Destiny's microtransaction store, including a dance that looks awfully close to the infamous dance performed by Drake in his Hotline Bling music video. These new emotes will only be available for sale during Crimson Days, so players who are interested won't want to wait.
The update also brings a number of bug fixes to the King's Fall raid and weekly Nightfall strike. Upon competing the Nightfall strike, players should find they have a smaller chance of receiving a ghost shell as a reward. When it comes to the game's newest raid, Bungie has fixed an issue pertaining to teleporting ogres, as well as a glitch that made players immune to the Totem Room's damage by using the sword to block. Now if a player stands under a totem for too long, they will be killed.
Aside from the new Crimson Doubles playlist, the next biggest Crucible change is that fact that players will no longer spawn with special ammo in 3v3 matches. Bungie has also announced that the Iron Banner event will be returning on Feb. 23.
That's all the major changes, but you can read the full patch notes over now at Bungie's site for more. As for what's next for Destiny? Bungie hasn't said what is coming down the pipe, but we can only hope it announces its plans soon.
