Bungie just got a new boss. The Destiny developer on Wednesday has announced that the long time studio president Harold Ryan stepped down and that the chief operating officer and executive producer Pete Parsons is now set to assume his role as Bungie's chief executive.
Being the CEO, Parsons is entrusted with the undertaking to lead the team as it continues to create great Destiny experiences.
“To the players of Destiny, I want you to know that my number one priority, and Bungie’s, is and always has been to deliver great games that we can all share together,” said Parsons. “I believe that Destiny is a one-of-a-kind experience. I also believe you have yet to see out studio’s best work.”
He went on to say that his new role as the CEO of Bungie is going to be aimed at fulfilling this promise.
Parsons also thanked Ryan for his passion, friendship, dedication and hard work in transforming Bungie to be the big company it is right now.
“As a team, we celebrated many victories and weathered many storms,” he added.
Bungie guarantees that it's going to continue to focus on producing excellent experiences in Destiny.
Parsons served as the studio’s COO and executive producer since 2002. Meanwhile, Ryan worked with Bungie since 2000 as the president and chairman of the board of directors.
Ryan joins other high profile talents who left Bungie, such as Marty O’Donell and Joseph Statin.
Unfortunately, Bungie does not go into the specifics of precisely why the change was made. On top of that, it is still cloudy whether or not Ryan will still remain with Bungie. The studio has yet to release another statement regarding this matter.
Meanwhile, a Kotaku post indicated that the rumored second installment of the renowned shooter was moved to 2017 from the long-speculated September release.
