It seems that the whole world, even the iOS App Store, is in the midst of a Star Wars frenzy.
After several months of waiting, Star Wars fans finally saw "The Force Awakens" on the big screen on Dec. 18.
New information pushed out by mobile analytics firm Sensor Tower showed that the excitement was felt even in the iOS App Store. Downloads and revenue from Star Wars apps considerably inched up during and after the first day of screening.
Over 100 Percent Increase
Sensor Tower looked at 22 apps and saw that on Dec. 18, the total number of downloads of these apps increased 102 percent, compared with the last two Fridays and Saturdays. All in all, these apps notched 381,000 downloads.
Popular Apps Recorded
Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes got the most revenue and nabbed the most downloads during the premiere of the new Star Wars movie. Specifically, it nabbed 164,000 downloads and generated $186,000 in revenue.
In the meantime, LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga got 41,000 downloads while Star Wars Commander - Worlds In Conflict managed to earn $43,000 in revenue and 29,000 downloads. Meanwhile, Star Wars: Force Collection produced $56,000.
"Combined revenue for the 22 apps we looked at was $334,000 on Dec. 19 - this was up 74 percent compared to the $192,000 average for Dec. 5 and 12," says Sensor Tower on a blog. "The day after 'The Force Awakens' premiered, combined downloads for the apps totalled 566,000 - up 193 percent over the 193,000 average of the two preceding Saturdays."
Among The Top Advertisers
Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes and Star Wars: Commander - Galaxy in Conflict were among the top 10 advertisers on Facebook from Dec. 14 to 20. Furthermore, these two mobile games, plus Star Wars: Uprising, took spots in the top 25 advertisers on the Facebook ad network during this particular period.
Over 500 Million Global Ticket Sales
As of press time, "The Force Awakens" has already made an enormous amount of money. It already gained $529 million in global ticket sales, surpassing the record of "Jurassic World" back in June. In addition, it also broke records in various regions of the world, including the UK, Australia, Germany, the United States and more countries, signifying that it is truly a hit movie of the year.
Good news to "Star Wars" fans out there: Disney wishes to push out a new "Star Wars" film every single year.

With this game, you are going to collect more than 400 character cards and vehicles, which include Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader.
