Microsoft does not want to be left behind in the Black Friday shopping craze, as it has released a new video that teases its upcoming Xbox Store Black Friday Sale.
The sale, which promises gamers of discounts of 40 to 60 percent for over 150 titles, will be taking place on Tuesday, Nov. 24. However, for subscribers of the Xbox Live Gold service, they can enjoy the sale a few days earlier than everyone else, beginning on today, Nov. 20.
The video does not mention any specific details regarding what gamers will see once the Xbox Store Black Friday Sale launches. However, several titles were included in the video through clips, including Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, Forza 6, Goat Simulator, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, The Witcher 3, Batman: Arkham Knight, and several more. Gamers can expect discounts on the prices of these games on the Xbox Store once the sale goes online.
Notably missing from the teaser video are the latest blockbuster games for the Xbox One, such as Fallout 4, Star Wars: Battlefront and Halo 5: Guardians. This does not mean these games will excluded from the Xbox Store Black Friday Sale, but it's certainly unlikely that discounts will already be placed on the prices of these titles considering that they are still high in the popularity list for Xbox One games.
Xbox Live Gold subscribers will be able to purchase the discounted games from Nov. 20 to Nov. 24. In addition, they would be able to enjoy an additional 10 percent off in the listed price of the games over the sale period.
The teaser video revealed that the upgrade to an Xbox Live Gold account will only be costing gamers $1. It's not clear whether the $1 price will upgrade the user's account to an Xbox Live Gold for the duration of the sale only, or if it would be lasting for a longer period of time.
With several retailers already launching their Black Friday deals much earlier, Microsoft entering the scene with the teaser video for its digital download store should allow gamers to better plan out what they want to purchase at a discounted price.
