He may be more popularly known as James Bond 007, but “Spectre” star Daniel Craig has also revealed that he's a fan of Bollywood films.
Although Craig has yet to film a movie in India himself, the actor has shared that he has travelled to Kerala and and has spent some time in Goa. He also shared that growing up in the United Kingdom meant that he was exposed to Indian culture a lot due to the impact the community has had on the country in the last three to four decades.
In an interview, Craig explained that he has seen several Bollywood films and thinks they are quite “fabulous” due to that fact that they get movie making right – they are a celebration and even exuberance of life.
“In the end it boils down to making movies for the audience that they enjoy watching and experience thrill which is what we try to do with Bond. Bollywood does that exceptionally well,” he said.
While we may not see Daniel Craig starring in any musical Bollywood blockbuster any time soon, we do know that the King of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan, has his eye on the role of James Bond, should Craig decide not to play the part anymore.
Khan has previously shared on Twitter that his “final fantasy” movie would be to have both Ethan Hunt from the “Mission Impossible” film franchise and James Bond appear in the ultimate spy vs. spy movie crossover.
That certainly sounds like an excellent Bollywood movie plot to us!
The Bollywood Hindi film industry is the biggest in the world, rivaling even the blockbusters of Hollywood. India is called the world's movie-making capital - their movies are a $2.28 billion a year industry.
