One notebook boasts a 4K display. The other touts the ability to turn 360 degrees and fold back over onto itself.
They are the updated line of Samsung's ATIV notebooks that the company just introduced — the Book 9 Pro and Book 9 Spin — that are both slated to hit stores this month. According to a Slash Gear report, the ATIV Book 9 Pro offers a 15.6-inch touchscreen display, billed as the company's first 4K notebook. The unique ATIV Book 9 Spin, which has a 13.3-inch display, has the ability to turn its screen all the way around, folding in different positions.
The Book 9 Spin's screen can be positioned as a desk picture frame or twisted around and folded back over itself, as shown below, almost resembling a tablet. The Book 9 Spin is scheduled to cost $1,399, while the Book 9 Pro will be available for $1,599 in stores and on Samsung's website this month. The 9 Pro is equipped with an Intel Core i7 processor 6700HQ, while the 9 Spin runs on an Intel Core i7 processor 6500U.
Slash Gear reports that, via Samsung's SideSync feature, the company's latest smartphones will be able to easily connect with the 9 Pro, allowing users to easily transfer files from their Galaxy S4 or Galaxy Note 3 with or without a hardware connection.
If you're settled on going with Samsung for your next laptop, which would you choose between the two? On one hand, the 4K display of the Book 9 Pro is hard to pass up, but for a cheaper cost, you'll get the more flexible and possibly practical Book 9 Spin.
