Joss Whedon's 'Avengers' vs. Akira Kurosawa's 'Seven Samurai'

The Avengers and Seven Samurai are two different films from two different eras from two wildly different directors. Akira Kurosawa is a legendary director, so it might be a little unfair to compare him to Joss Whedon, who gave us Buffy and Firefly.
