Lumia 650, codenamed Saana, is the subject of the latest leaked renders that cropped up and made the rounds over the Internet, suggesting Microsoft is working on a midrange Lumia, which could be its fourth Windows 10 smartphone.
Microsoft already unveiled three Windows 10 handsets, the Lumia 550, 950 and 950 XL. However, Lumia 950 and 950 XL are high-end products and the 550 model (which has a Snapdragon 210 CPU, 720p display, 1 GB of RAM as well as 8 GB of internal memory) is classified as a low-end handset. In the near future, it seems that Microsoft customers might likewise have another option — a midrange Lumia 650 smartphone.
Recently, WinBeta has obtained renders of this anticipated Windows 10 device.
Judging from what is flashed on the screen of the mobile phone's leaked image (6:50), it is expected that it will be named Lumia 650. Microsoft is known for displaying the model of a Lumia device in previous Lumia models' demo shots, including the 950 and 550, by showing the time on the screen, for instance, 9:50 (for the 950 model) and 5:50 (for the 550 model).
Previously, people assumed Saana/Lumia 650 will be the successor of the Lumia 830. In July, it was purported that Saana was one of the six device names Microsoft was allegedly working on. It was said at that time that Saana was revived by Microsoft after the device, along with other two devices, was previously cancelled.
Sadly, the leaked WinBeta report did not go into detail as to what are the features the device has in store and when customers can expect the device to hit the stores.
Nonetheless, this Windows 10 mobile is anticipated to boast a display larger than the Lumia 550 (which sports a 4.7-inch display). It is also believed that it will run Windows 10 out of the box.
RM-1152
Meanwhile, another report surfaced, saying this Lumia phone is the RM-1152, the global variant of the Lumia device.
The RM-1152 previously cropped up on AdDuplex which showed this phone will come with a 5-inch 720p display.
This device will also boast Qualcomm MSM8909 Snapdragon 210, 2,000 mAh battery, microSD card slot. It is also believed to include Glance Screen support. Interestingly, it is said the device has no dedicated camera button.
