'Star Wars Battlefront' Beta Had More Than 9 Million Players

More than 9 million users logged in and played the Star Wars Battlefront beta, the game's senior producer Sigurlina Ingvarsdottir announced in a blog post on the game's official website Monday. That has made it the largest beta in the history of Electronic Arts, according to the post.

The Star Wars Battlefront beta launched on Oct. 8 and was supposed to run through Oct. 12, although EA later extended the beta and Companion Experience one more day to Oct. 13.

Originally announced in April, Star Wars Battlefront allows you to play as iconic characters from the saga, such as Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader, as you battle your opponents in different missions and multiplayer modes, all set in the Star Wars galaxy. The recently announced Star Wars Battlefront Season Pass also includes four future expansion packs for the game.

Star Wars Battlefront will be available Nov. 17 in North America and Nov. 19 in Europe.
