The Kardashian family is on a roll.
Recently, we brought you the controversial Cosmopolitan cover that had America in a huff. The photo was of sisters Kourtney, Kim, Khloe, Kendall, Kylie and mother Kris Jenner in white button-downs with the text "America's First Family."
Now, Kourtney takes center stage and graces the pages of Vanity Fair with a nude image shot by Brian Bowen Smith. As part of Smith's Metallic Life series, Kourtney's photo is printed on metallic paper.
"Love being a part of @brianbowensmith #metalliclife series. Go to vanityfair.com for more images and to read about it. @vanityfair @deregallery," she posted on her Instagram account.
"Brian Bowen Smith's photographs in the Metallic Life series are unlike any nude photographs you've seen before. Printed on metallic paper, and presented with no glass, they emphasize the 'tantalizing textures of skin,' as Smith puts it," Vanity Fair says about the series. "On display at the De Re Gallery in Los Angeles, from October 22 to November 19, Metallic Life captures the vulnerability and true nature of its subjects-including Kourtney Kardashian, photographed -through the exposure of their skin."
Kourtney isn't one to be in the spotlight, at least in comparison to the rest of her family she isn't. This is her first solo photoshoot since her breakup with longtime boyfriend Scott Disick, who is the father of her children.
The Kardashian-Jenner family seems to have taken to magazine photoshoots to mark their milestones. Khloe rebranded herself as the "fitness Kardashian" on the cover of Complex, Kylie celebrated her legal status on Galore and of course, Caitlyn introduced herself on the cover of Vanity Fair. Given this, Kourtney's photoshoot doesn't come as a surprise.
The 36-year-old TV personality and model is involved in the retail and fashion industries. Her first television appearance in 2005 on the E! network series Filthy Rich: Cattle Drive. Her family was then commissioned for the reality show Keeping Up with the Kardashians, which yielded several spinoffs for Kourtney, including Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami, Kourtney and Kim Take New York, Kourtney and Kim Take Miami and Kourtney and Khloé Take The Hamptons. She was also on I Am Cait, a series that chronicles her stepmother Caitylyn Jenner's gender transition. Kourtney currently stars in and produces Dash Dolls, another Keeping Up with the Kardashians spinoff, a reality series that features a group of young female employees, referred as Dash dolls, working in the upscale Dash boutique in Hollywood which is owned by the Kardashian family.
