Upcoming mid-level phablet Samsung Galaxy Mega On is expected to hit the markets very soon following its certification from the Chinese regulatory commission TENAA.
While the phablet is set to debut in China, it is assumed to be brought to the rest of the world afterwards.
Samsung Galaxy Mega On will boast a wide 5.5-inch display with a vivid 720p HD resolution, perfect for comfortable movie viewing on the road.
The phone stores 1 GB worth of RAM and comes with 8 GB of nternal storage capacity. For those who need more memory, a microSD external expansion is possible up to 128 GB. Mega On is expected to have a very clear 13-megapixel rear camera and a neat 5 MP front shooter. Light and handy, the device is 8.2 mm on the side, and weighs 172 grams (0.38 pounds).
The device supports 4G LTE connectivity. Since it is not a high-end phone, it will not sport the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow, instead it will have an Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS.
A 3,000 mAh capacity battery is expected to power up the device.
Certification details revealed that the Galaxy Mega On will be running under a quad-core 1.2GHz CPU, possibly a Snapdragon 420 chipset.
Galaxy Mega On signals the coming of phablets in Samsung's mid-range phones currently led by the A series and the E series. Samsung has first showed its move to release more phablets by unveiling the Galaxy Note 5.
Samsung struggles to differentiate itself from other Android phones by introducing improvements in camera, studio, screen and power. Unlike its biggest rival Apple, which is clearly differentiated by its unique software, Samsung shares more similarities with lower-priced smartphones.
The brand has introduced a number of innovations in smartphones. So far, Samsung is known for clear cameras with higher aperture, an advanced photo editor, fast and wireless charging and battery saving features.
